5 Fun Facts About the Animals at Pirates Voyage in Pigeon Forge

Whether you’re watching Salty the Sea Lion show off his tricks or our dogs leaping into the water of Buccaneer Bay, you’ll fall in love with them too! To help you learn more about them, we’ve made a list of five fun facts about the animals at Pirates Voyage in Pigeon Forge:
1. Salty the Sea Lion Battles Captain Blackbeard
Arguably our guests’ favorite animal at Pirates Voyage is Salty the Sea Lion! Salty joins one of our comical castaways on stage to participate in a battle against Captain Blackbeard. He shows off his clever tricks and talented dance moves to claim victory over Blackbeard and win the hearts of everyone in the audience.
2. Daring Dogs Dive Off Docks
Our four-legged performers love captivating the audience with their adorableness and skills! Our daring dogs dive off the docks into the water of Buccaneer Bay. Watch in amazement as they race across the water and show off their swimming skills!
3. Tropical Birds Soar Through the Theater
What’s a pirate without his colorful bird companion? Our tropical birds add to the excitement of our show. Watch as a beautiful macaw takes flight and soars through our theater before landing on a pirate’s arm, and other exotic birds fly high above our full-sized pirate ships!
4. We Use Positive Reinforcement Training
One fun fact about the animals at Pirates Voyage in Pigeon Forge is that they’re each trained using only positive reinforcement training. The foundation of our training is built on a trusting relationship with our animals and our animal care specialists, and every interaction with our animals is completely voluntary. We ensure training is a positive experience and provides enriching stimulation for the animals while encouraging problem-solving skills, exercise, and fun!
5. We Ensure They Receive the Best Nutrition & Care
Our main priority is making sure that our animals receive the best nutrition, environment, and care possible. On top of having regular physical examinations from our veterinary team, our sea lions receive daily vitamins and high-quality diets and enjoy a meticulously cared-for environment. Our extensive diet preparation process guarantees that only the best fish are fed to our animals. We also make sure the land areas are sanitized daily, and the aquatic environment is maintained daily.
